Dr. Erika Gibson, DVM, CertAqV Owner & Chief of Staff Born in Virginia and raised in Maryland, Dr. Erika Gibson loved animals her entire life. She owned a wide range of different pets-from cats and dogs to fish, reptiles and chinchillas. She possessed a strong passion for knowledge and graduated as valedictorian of her high school. However, she didn't decide to pursue a career in veterinary medicine until after graduating from the University of Miami with a dual Bachelor's of Science in Marine Science and Biology in 2012. Between graduating from undergrad and beginning her veterinary program at Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gibson worked in various veterinary clinics and pursued a Master's degree in Marine Biology in order to adequately prepare for veterinary school. After graduating from Auburn with her DVM in 2019, she relocated to Houston, working for a clinic in the local area under a board-certified specialist, gaining valuable experience in treating a wide range of pets (including dogs, cats, small mammals and farm animals, reptiles, birds, and non-human primates). She served as Medical Director/Chief of Staff of two different clinics, prior to purchasing Treaschwig Veterinary Clinic in 2025. She has special interests in abdominal and orthopedic surgeries, dermatology, feline medicine, and exotic animal medicine. Notably, Dr. Gibson is one of the only Certified Aquatic Veterinarians located in Texas. Dr. Gibson loves raising her daughter, Nyla, and watching the world through her toddler eyes. Dr. Gibson also has a Great Dane named Kira, 2 cats named DJ and Misty, and a 3-legged chinchilla named Stitch. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, traveling, watching women's and men's basketball, trying new brunch spots, and reading. Her life’s goal is to provide affordable, compassionate, and quality medical care to all her patients. Daneatria Gibson Practice Manager I’ve always been the girl who wants to do it all. So I turned into the woman who does. From design, to architecture, city planning, sewing, and much more. There’s not much that I can’t do or figure out how to do, so when my sister, Dr. Gibson, asked that I join her as the Practice Manager of Gibson's Paws, Claws, and Crawls, there really was no question what my decision would be. Between my family's love of animals and my many talents, joining the practice just felt like the right next step. I decided to bring my lifetime experience of creative problem solving, customer service, and people and project management to help create a legacy with my family and in this community. In my early years, I was introduced to Howard University. Growing up, I just knew, whatever I chose to do, I needed to help people and that is where I wanted to be. After finishing high school in Maryland I found a home there. I studied Architecture and earned my Bachelors. Over the next few years, I honed my newly developed skills towards many projects, such as freelance design, city planning, and home renovations. My expertise only grew once I moved to Houston in 2017 and continued working in similar spaces including creating a residential remodeling company, Smooth Solutions, with my older brother (who also serves as the clinic's handyman). Starting this journey with the family has been amazing, and I'm excited for what the future holds for Gibson's Paws, Claws, and Crawls. Favorite animal? It's always a struggle finding someone who is willing and knowledgeable on treating reptiles and aquatics. She's always able to get my animals in quick and I've yet to have a negative experience within the 2 and 1/2 years of her being my vet. Appointment & Clinic Policies Appointment Policy At Gibson’s Paws, Claws & Crawls, we operate as a hospital, which means emergencies can sometimes cause delays. While we make every effort to see patients on time, please expect possible wait times. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we provide the best care for all pets. New Client Check-In Process A new photo of your pet will be taken for their pet profile. At times, we use pet photos on our social media with your signed approval (receptionist will provide paperwork for signature). We will update your account contact information. EMAILS ARE REQUIRED, as we make every attempt to minimize paper use. If you are a service member, veteran, or senior, please let us know. All receipts, invoices, estimates, patient forms can be emailed, if requested. Customer Interaction Policy Gibson’s Paws, Claws & Crawls is a family-centered practice rooted in compassion, respect, and quality care. To maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all, we have a zero-tolerance policy for disrespectful or abusive behavior toward any member of our team. This includes, but is not limited to: Raising your voice or using profanity Derogatory, demeaning, or threatening language Intimidation or encroachment on personal space If any of these behaviors occur: You will be asked to leave immediately. Your client relationship with our clinic will be terminated. You will be responsible for securing veterinary care elsewhere. A $100 administrative fee per pet will be applied for any future medical record requests. Dismissal does not exempt payment for services already rendered. We reserve the right to refuse service or end the client relationship at any time in order to maintain the well-being and safety of our staff, clients, and animals. Our team works with deep love and care for every pet who enters our doors. We ask clients to join us in preserving the peaceful, supportive, and inclusive environment that makes Gibson’s feel like family. Cancellation Policy If you miss or fail to cancel two appointments , a deposit will be required to schedule your third appointment. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late , we cannot guarantee your appointment time. You will be considered a walk-in and will be seen as the schedule allows. Refund Policy Prescription medications are final sale and non-refundable by law . Unopened pet food may be returned for clinic credit .
